Formally known as:
Good Marketing Group & Spark Marketer
Formally known as Good Marketing Group & Spark Marketer, these two digital marketing agencies came together to create the go-to digital marketing company for business owners in the homeowner service industries. I joined Good Marketing Group’s team in 2022, where I translated my skills into digital marketing solutions.

From Figma Designs to Websites
Water Products & Solutions
From Figma to the web, users online were able to request product information faster and schedule appointments with ease.
Water Products & Solutions needed a user-friendly website where customers could access information on water quality products and information. I worked with the web development team on creating a new website.
1. Planning
What does Water Products & Solutions look like?
- Branding
- Colors
- Fonts
- Imagery
- Functions (Forms, payments, information.)
To help figure this out, we would send our clients a ‘discovery’ form, which would include questions they would need to fill out to help us bridge the gap between the needs, functions and the creative path to take.
2. Figma
By starting in Figma, I created the layouts for what the website would look like.
I began to create 4 pages for review:
- Home
- Services
- About Us
- and Contact Us
Figma Mockup:
– The homepage mockup
I had to ensure that we were hitting the mark on bringing both the company’s image and user accessibility to show the client what their new site would feel like.
Page Examples:
Example pages for:
- Services
- About Us
- and Contact Us
3. Development
Once our Figma design was approved by the client, I started translating the mock up to the web.
The process included 2 reviews of the live website, and testing the new functions of the forms.
With some revisions from the client, we were successfully able to meet their wants and needs for visual and functional design.

When tasked with redesigning their website, they wanted us to create a better user experience for the ‘readers’ who like to learn about the nitty-gritty of the scientific portion to water treatment.
Creating Better User Experiences
Welcome Mat
Welcome Mat was a project that had a unique start. My boss held a team meeting and discussed that they were holding a contest to see who could come up with a new digital product for our web clients.
The question was – “How can we make forms more visually appealing? Less like the norm? Different from our competitors?”
Luckily, I had won the contest with my concept. This concept evolved into the “Welcome Mat.”. This allowed the opportunity for me to be the team lead on a project that for a UI/UX project, which tested my skills and allowed me the opportunity to work with our web developer.
1. New Experience
When developing the Welcome Mat product, there were many discussions on what a form should be, and how it should function.
In previous websites, forms were used as both a sales tool and a way to get customers to schedule for services. This meant that we needed to implement a story telling element to guide users visually through their product or service needs.
Our questions and considerations for designing Welcome Mat included the following:
- Functionality (Where, why, and how?)
- Usability (Images, icons, or text?)
- End Goal (Can the user get to the end?)
2. Process
After a few meetings, I began sketching the design for the Welcome Mat phases.
This would include:
- Intro Page
- Service(s) Page
- Questions
- Image Uploader
- Contact Information
- Confirmation Page
– Sketches
In the slide show, you can see how the journey was sketched out to function. This later then was translated into the final product.
– Icons
Icons would play a huge role in terms of how the user would make choices based on a service they needed or product they are shopping for.
This would include:
Fuel Type Options
Fuel Info
Fireplace shops sell and service heating appliances that use different fuel types. These icons represent the types of appliances you may see in-store.
Some fuel types include:
- Electric
- Gas (Natural or Propane)
- Wood
And other fuel types such as coal or water.
Project Types
Services & Project Info
Services are a big part of what fireplace and chimney shops offer to help homeowners keep their appliance safe to use, or to spruce up their living spaces.
Some services include:
- Gas fireplace refresh
- Chimney sweeping
- Adding a new fire appliance
And certain shops may offer other services!
Scheduling And More
Scheduling & More Info
- Scheduling an appointment
- Asking a question or needing help
- Or starting a project
3. Final Product
Once we figured out the design for Welcome Mat, the web developer on my team collaborated with me on creating the functionality.
The journeys for each option were fully flesh out and customized for the selection the user could make.
4. Results
Once Welcome Mat launched, we kept an eye out for the metrics on how many users were engaging with the web page and submitting the forms.
At first, we saw that our clients were excited to include this feature on their websites when we would explain and demo Welcome Mat at trade shows. Overtime as we saw in the data – It was shown to have more bounce rates than completed form submissions.
Welcome Mat 2023
– November 2023 – December 2023
- Welcome Mat Launch Engagement 13%
- Form Submissions 5%
After the first month of launching Welcome Mat, we saw a slow incline of users interacting with the plugin.
Our clients even reported to us that they noticed only a few submissions coming in every 2 – 3 weeks.
Welcome Mat 2024 – 1 year later
– November 2024
- User Engagement 10%
- Form Submissions 2%
After having Welcome Mat live on Fireside Stone & Patio’s website, we noticed a large decline in users interacting with and completing forms through Welcome Mat.
So our team and I met to discuss a game plan on how we could better incorporate Welcome Mat on our clients’ sites, and observe other ways we could improve on it.
We chose to reduce the number of questions required and shortened the journey for users to make it faster.
Welcome Mat 2025
- 2025 – User Engagement 28%
- 2025 – Form Submissions 11%
With the improvements we made to the Welcome Mat plugin, and by placing the link in the main navigation or for specific links such as: “Start Your Project”, we saw that the numbers went back up for user engagement and form submissions.
Even though Welcome Mat did not continue to gain the traction we were hoping for, it was still a very fun and innovative project that pushed me to think about user experience. The Futurenow Marketing clients who had Welcome Mat on their sites still wanted to continue with having the plugin installed, because it is such a personalized product that makes their websites feel unique.
